Eggs On Legs
February 20 @ 12:00 - 15:00£11.25
‘Every day, from here to there, funny things are everywhere.’ Dr Seuss
Taking inspiration from the original wacky wordsmith, Dr Seuss, Garlic Theatre has cooked up a family puppet show all about eggs on legs. These aren’t your common or garden poultry products, however; they’ve leapt from the frying pan into a magical world where an enormous egg has been blown into their tree.
What secrets are hidden inside, and will they be able to save it from the jaws of a slithery snake? Combining a comedic score with a funny egg-centric story, this is a warm-hearted production which would crack even the hardest of shells.
Adults and children alike are mesmerised by the fantastically designed puppets, as well as the skilful manipulation performed by their puppeteer. The story unfolds in a poetic way which would make the Dr himself proud – especially the moments of pure side-splitting silliness. Garlic Theatre is a well-established company that has been touring the UK for 20 years.
Their ‘trademark combo’ (Time Out) of hand-crafted puppets and humorous music has even seen them travel as far afield as Brazil and Taiwan, so this new show is an assured slice of family entertainment. Part of the Live & Local Launchpad CYP programme (firing the imagination of children and young people).
‘A trademark combo of adorable puppets, jokes and audience participation.’ Time Out
