IT IS WITH GREAT SADNESS THAT WE ANNOUNCE THE PERMANENT CLOSURE OF WORCESTER ARTS WORKSHOP
The Board has not taken this difficult decision lightly, but only after much discussion and consideration and with the belief that it is the financially and ethically responsible decision in these challenging circumstances.
We are immensely grateful for the support and additional emergency funding we have received until now, allowing us to continue working and engaging with people since the building closed to the public in March. As with all arts organisations, the pandemic has brought considerations to the fore that have required us to think differently about our future.
Our thanks and thoughts go to our dedicated staff, volunteers and partners that have given their professional expertise to the Workshop over a long time.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to you, our customers and participants and to all the artists, community groups, supporters and friends who made WAW their home.
It is the end of an era with great memories for people in the City. Over the 40+ years at Sansome Street, WAW has made a hugely positive impact on the lives of many, many people. That’s a good legacy to leave.
With thanks for your support.
